Lead, inspire and shape culture
As the Head of People & Culture you will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of People & Culture strategies that support the successful delivery of GMCU’s Strategic Plan and priorities.
As a key part of GMCU’s Senior Leadership Team, you’ll oversee all People functions, including Workplace Health, Safety & Wellbeing, recruitment and retention, workplace relations, performance management, and learning and development. Working closely with the Executive team, you’ll also play a key role in fostering employee engagement and building a strong, values-driven organisational culture.
About You

- You’re professionally qualified: You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related business discipline.
- You think strategically: You bring strong business acumen and the ability to develop, implement and evaluate workforce and organisational strategies aligned to broader business objectives.
- You lead with impact: You have a proven ability to lead, motivate and develop diverse teams, fostering a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture.
- You build capability: You are experienced in coaching, mentoring and delivering professional development programs that uplift team capability and drive organisational success.
- You know your frameworks: You have a strong understanding of HR, IR and Workplace Health & Safety legislation, and experience applying and evolving policies, procedures and business-wide frameworks to ensure compliance and best practice.
- You communicate with influence: You demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including community organisations.
- You present with confidence: You have experience preparing and delivering high-quality reports and insights to a variety of audiences, including Board and management, to support informed decision-making.
