About the Role
GMCU is looking for a Fraud and Disputes Lead responsible for overseeing and managing the organisation’s fraud prevention, detection and dispute resolution functions. The role reports to Chief Operations Officer and ensures the effective implementation of fraud risk management strategies, adherence to regulatory and operations compliance standards and the continuous improvement of fraud control framework and dispute resolution processes.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop, implement and maintain robust fraud prevention and detection controls across GMCU
- Monitor transactions, systems and processes to identify unusual and suspicious activities.
- Collaborate with other teams to strengthen system controls and monitoring tools
- Handle end-to-end dispute resolution process in accordance with procedures and timeframes set by relevant regulatory bodies.
- Develop and deliver training and educational resources across GMCU to build awareness of fraud risk controls and regulatory requirements.
- Complete reporting tasks, ensure policies and procedures are kept up to date and maintain accurate documentation.

- You hold Tier 2 certification or have the ability to successfully complete within three months of commencement.
- You’re enthusiastic and possess a drive to exceed member expectations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in task completion.
- You’re comfortable working on a computer and software (e.g. Microsoft Office and other relevant systems)
- Working independently to achieve defined objectives and prioritise your workload comes naturally.
- The ability to successfully meet GMCU’s pre-employment screening requirements.
