  • Involves travel to Violet town branch on Tuesdays and Fridays

About the Role

The Member Services Officer (MSO) is the first face you’ll see when you walk into a GMCU branch. If you’ve got banking experience, great! If not, no worries. We’ll provide you with all the banking training you’ll need.

We’re really looking for someone who can comfortably interact with - and problem solve for - a broad range of people, whether it be members, people in the local community, or our support teams.

Teamwork makes the dream work here at GMCU – so we’re also keen to have someone who understands how to positively contribute as part of a broader team.

Each day might look different, but usually you’ll find yourself:

  • Completing financial transactions for members
  • Conducting needs-based conversations with members and potential members
  • Understanding and being able to talk about our banking and insurance products and services.

This position may also be required to provide relief support within the branch (i.e. in other roles) and for other branches within the network from time to time.

About You (Key Selection Criteria for this role)

  • Our values (Integrity, Responsible, Progressive and Excellence) align with yours.
  • You hold Tier 2 certification or have the ability to successfully complete within two months of commencement.
  • You have demonstrated sales or customer service skills and experience.
  • You’re enthusiastic and possess a drive to exceed member expectations.
  • Communication – whether written, or face to face – is a breeze for you.
  • You have a keen eye for detail.
  • You’re comfortable working on a computer and software (e.g. Microsoft Office, POS systems)
  • Working independently to achieve defined objectives and prioritise your workload comes naturally.
  • Ability to participate as an active and positive member of your team at work.
  • You hold a current Victorian drivers’ licence.
  • The ability to successfully meet GMCU’s pre-employment screening requirements.
